Initially selected on a back flank, ’Elvis’ made the centre his own as he sparked a thirteen goal last quarter by Chelsea against Hastings in his first game. The game had been dragged from the jaws of defeat and Phil was the main saviour.
It was the start of an outstanding year in which he won club and competition awards with some breathtaking plays out of the centre.
‘Elvis’ was an out and out star.
