A Liston Trophy winner with Sandringham, Joe came to a club that was expecting great things from him.
After a slow start, he responded to a ‘heart to heart’ from the selection committee by producing a Best on Ground performance in dreadful conditions the following week.
This was the forerunner of a string of brilliant performances that saw him awarded the highest honours at Chelsea and in the MPFL.
Joe served The Club with distinction as it's premier ruckman for many years before his retirement in 2004.
