This man was a brilliant ruckman who played a key role in Chelsea’s great teams of the late eighties and early nineties. An athletic, high jumping ruckman who would often punch the ball thirty or forty metres, ‘Stork’ could also take a great mark and was an extremely dangerous forward when resting. It wasn’t unusual for him to end a game with four or five goals to his credit. The consummate clubman, ‘Stork’ was fully involved and supportive on and off the field, a great player and a wonderful clubman.
