Playing with Chelsea he was very effective as a centreman and also often used off the back flank with short spells in the pivot to maximise his impact. This tactic proved very effective as he was a damaging player in both roles.
Willing to back his judgement, Kel had a physique that enabled him to confront oncoming traffic head on, something he seemed to enjoy.
