Recruited from Scoresby, Glen was a former Hawthorn and Collingwood player who approached his football accordingly—straight ahead with eyes always fixed firmly on the ball.
At a little over six foot, he was mobile and managed to inspire maximum effort from those playing under him.
A Jim Beam salesman, Glen was very popular personality who generated a happy social environment, but just didn’t quite have the team to provide a premiership in 1993.
He had a year away from coaching before returning as coach in 1995, but was unable to lift a weakened team which finished in the lower half of the ladder.
