2022 - NETBALL DIV 2 U-17 PREMIERS
🏆 Under 17’s = PREMIERS!!
Chelsea (19) Vs Mornington (16)
Our under 17’s started the day in cracking form. It was always going to be a tough game against Mornington, through the season we won one game and they won the other and they are a fantastic team.
We started a bit shaky with the GF nerves on show for each team. But as things settled we remained in relative control for majority of the game despite just a narrow margin.
The girls showed composure beyond their years and this was the theme for the entire finals series. Sienna Koop & Emma Storey were phenomenal in defence, with Sienna taking a great intercept in the dying seconds of the game. Tamsin Weston worked super hard in the mid court and fought for every ball that came her way and provided stability in the mid court.
Every single player played their role on game day and over the course of the season and Kate and I could not be happier with each players contribution, effort and growth over the season and finals.
The girls really did it the hard way, finishing 4th and having to win 3 elimination finals to get there, so to take out the premiership is an amazing feat. They earned their spot to get there, and earned the win on the weekend.
Huge congratulations goes to Darcy Close on a great game and being awarded the best on court medal as voted by the umpires 👏🏻
What made this win even sweeter for the girls and the club is the fact that this was the FIRST EVER PREMIERSHIP for Chelsea FNC. These girls made history and are so deserving of it. Well done to Kate Mellon & the 17’s team.
