1947 - SEASON REVIEW
1947 - With Bonnie Johnston as Coach and Alf Evans having a stellar season, winning the Club and Competition Beast & Fairest Awards, Chelsea mounted a strong challenge finishing the season in 3rd position.
Approaching the finals with some confidence the Gulls were, unfortunately, outgunned by Cheltenham to exit the race at the first hurdle. It was, however, a much improved performance from the seasiders.
Complimenting the effort of the Senior Tean, the Juniors played some brilliant Football at the pointy end of the season to win the flag convincingly.
1947 had been a very good year.
